What’s something that you don’t regret spending on?

I was a single father to both my children. They are now 39 and 36 years old. I worked very hard and slept very little until both were brought up, fed every day, received bachelors degrees and more, and are both very successful.
I have no regrets about any of the money I spent helping them achieve their goals. I don’t even have regrets about the 2 heart attacks and high blood pressure I gave myself fending for them.
Everything else I have spent money on is meaningless in comparison. Not only do I not regret spending my health and money on my children, but their goals and dreams were my goals and dreams. I have never really talked or written about this before.
To me, it doesn’t seem special at all. Any real “dad” does this without thinking or seeking recognition. To put something or someone special above your own wants and supporting them financially, emotionally, and physically is money well spent. I would do over and over again.

Thank you for the kind words Kim. I wish I could say that I had some “special” quality. But I don’t. Just got lucky. I had great children and a lot of baggage of my own I was carrying. I think focusing on them helped me not think about my own horrible upbringing. As I said, nothing special. Just knew that I wanted the best for them. To your question, I am feeling great. Thank you for responding. Rod
